    Unhappy Need Help on scripts!

    Dear people,

    I want to know if you know how to do some kind of stuff, let's say it is the address bar you see in IE. I do not know how to create those stuff, so if you do not mind, help me with this? If you know please write it down here on this topic here so I can follow with this and I shall keep these scripts as a archive. Thanks!

    Huh?

    In php, you can get the address easily.
    <?php echo $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']; ?>
    that will display the url.
    You could do it in javascript too, but I don't know the exact code.

    But... I'm totally lost as to what you want.

    Unless you're asking how you could code your own web browser, but that's way beyond just casually asking a couple questions... would require tons of knowledge and time. Though, Mozilla does have customizable things you could build off of.

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
      document.write(window.location.href);
    </script>

    Ha, one of the few times when the JS might actually be easier to remember than the PHP.

    Javascript is usually easier to remember than PHP... PHP is a very inconsistent language.

    My main issue with JS is all of the something.whatever.somethingelse stuff that's going on. So many things to memorize.
    I don't work with JS that much, so probably will effect it too.

    You mean, object orientation?

    Yeah, but specifically all of the various things that go after, before, and between the dots.
    the syntax is easy... just something.something, but memorizing the somethings is what I find annoying.

    What I want is the one which is to type in your URL, and click "GO" Button. Then it automatically directs you to the page where you specifically tell what/where to go. That is what I am trying to define this question as my topic.

    Code:
    <form action="" onsubmit="this.action = this.elements['url'].value;return true;">
      <input type="text" name="url">
      <input type="submit" value="Go">
    </form>
