Building a page from a databse

Hello,

I am a graphic designer with basic HTML knowledge ... and that is about it. By searching the web I am able to add stuff to my web pages by borrowing code, but I am at a loss on this. I am building a catalog of sorts for 3000 products. I will have the products laid out in a grid. What I want is when someone clicks on a thumbnail on the grid, it pulls up a details window. So I got all that figured out using "fancy box". (see image)

Now, however, I am left with the task of building every single product pop-up page. I created a design template and am copying and pasting text from a database to build each page. Then it hit me that this should be able to be done dynamically. I just have no clue how. Once again not a coder. Am I in over my head or can this be done easily?
