Overly large PDF documents with pictures
My PDF files are overly large even when the Word files that they come from are tiny in comparison. What gives? The problem seems to be with the pictures inside but I don't know why that would be the case when Word makes them so small. I heard that it was not a great idea to put Word files up on a website because fonts inside get subbed for system alternates if the visitor doesn't have Microsoft Office on their computer. I convert to PDF to keep formatting so am I stuck between a rock and a hard place? Word files that are small but can potentially look ugly, or PDFs that look right yet are huge!!!! Help!
