LOAD a swf file that calls external data into another swf file

I have two free Flash templates, one from Flash Village and one from Flashmo.com. One is a complete site, and the other is just a swf file that calls external data from an xml file.

When I run the swf file, it calls the data perfectly. I can edit the xml file, and everything works ok.

Now, on the complete site, each button in the menu calls an external swf file and loads it into the main swf file. Each button calls 1.swf, 2.swf, etc. So I just changed the name of the xml based swf file to 2.swf and uploaded it to the server. But when I call it through the website, it never loads the data from the xml file. If I call it separately, it does.

What do I have to change to get it to work inside another swf file? btw, the other existing swf files that get called and loaded into the main website swf also get their data externally, via a txt file, and they work fine, so I can't figure out what the problem is.
