Smooth Nav Menu, problem with vertical menu in IE6

I'm having an issue with this script in IE6. The problem occurs in the example from the script URL (above) as well. Basically, the horizontal version seems to work perfectly, but there are problems with the vertical version.

First, as it builds the drop down menus, you can briefly see scroll arrows. That's not that big of a deal. Overall, the horizontal version operates much smoother than the vertical version, though.

The second issue is with sub-sub-menus (as in the Folder 2 menu in the example). When you first hover over Folder 2, most of the menu is filled with blank entries. Once you hover over the sub-menu, the menu builds correctly, and it stays properly built until you refresh the page. It is like it is incorrectly figuring out the placement for all of the sub-menus, and putting them on top of the first sub-menu.
