Media Template vs. DreamHost

Been looking at a lot of hosts, and have narrowed it down to these two.

Multiple people here have recommended Media Template, which I'm guessing is much more expensive than DreamHost because of the "cloud" style of hosting/stability, similar to Mosso.

At the same time, some of my coworkers use DreamHost and absolutely love it. After seeing a tour of DreamHost's control panel, it looks like an awesome service.

If anyone has had experience with either of these hosts I would really appreciate any feedback you might have about them, both positive and negative.
