Need Advice for upgrading the Computer RAM ?

I have an Intel D101 GGC motherboard with 512 MB RAM 3.0 Giga ,OS XP 32 Bit, I would like to upgrade my RAM to 1 Gb or 2 Gb,Can someone tell me which is optimal, and will there be a lot of difference between the two options. I want to use my upgraded machine for games. Or will the RAM even be detected?(2Gb).

How much memory really depends on what games you'd like to play. 1GB would probably be a smarter upgrade, because your performance is likely to bottleneck on your processor or integrated video with 2GB of RAM, thus you wouldn't see much of a difference.
Also, if you decide to upgrade to 1GB then you only need a stick of 512MB.

Windows XP can detect the 2GB of RAM and your motherboards documentation says its supported, so if you go the 2GB route you should be fine with compatibility.

And again, this all depends on what game you want to be playing. You could probably play WoW on that computer with 1GB of memory, but Age of Conan you would probably get 1FPS.
