My new machine
So I broke down and decided it was time for a new machine. I was going to build my own and then I got to looking. I found all the pieces I wanted (all top of the line) and I could build it for about 2500 bucks (this includes water cooling).
When the day came (that was yesterday) I did even more research and found one already assembled for $1300 that had 95% of the pieces I wanted! SO I ordered it. Here are the specs:
Asus 775 socket MoBo
Intel G33 extreme Chipset
Intel QX6700 CPU (yeah the new quad core one with 8MB cache :) )
NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT video card with 512 MB memory (PCI Express 16x GI)
4 Gig DDR2 667 memory (the 240 pin DIMM)
2x 500Gig (1 terrabyte) HDD in RAID 0 Array set up
HD-DVD drive at 24x
DVD R-RW at 4x to 52x
19 in 1 card reader
Windows XP Pro
Integrated Dolby pro logic 7.1 surround sound audio card
Integrated 10/100/1000 LAN chipset/speed with 802.11b/g Wireless
6 USB 2.0 high speed ports
2 PS/2 ports
1 DVI and 1 HDMI port
S-Video out (on Graphicx card) a 1 S video with TV tuner card
6 rear audio out ports
2 front audio out ports
2 SP/DIF ports
2 firewire IEEE ports
infrared Receiver and remote control
The only thing I don't like is proprietary HD set up and no liquid cooling. I will have to get heat transfer shields for the memory as well, but those are cheap. It is fast, nimble and Dir-X 10.1 ready.
Sweet!

Nice one :)
Congrats !
I also got one in October last year :
Quad Core Q6600 2.4GHz (OC @ 3.6GHz)
MSi p35 Platinum Combo
4 x 1GB Ram 800
3 x 250 GB HDD 7200rpm
CM Aquagate S1 Liquid Cooler
20x Liton DVD re-writer
MSi 7600 GT (OC Edition) DDR3
bla bla
CM Stacker 830 Evo :D :D
Its was way above $2500 because I live in India and here we pay 100% duty on imported stuff :( Thats why i had to go for 7600 GT which also came for $300 at that time :(
Anyways, soon i'll be getting the 8800 GTX when the 9 series comes out (less price)
