Aero is fairly obviously Microsoft's answer to Apple's OS X graphics, and possibly Linux' Beryl/Compiz, but other than that I really fail to see the similarities. I don't know if this is still the case, but there's some pretty serious (and thus, since the concept is flawed, seriously bad)
DRM stuff in the plans at one point. I suspect at least some of it is still there.
I suppose that could be considered Mac-style too (iTunes &c.), but I think the Linux community would start building its own hardware before it let something like that into the OS :) Linus' mere mention of allowing basic DRM-supporting hardware in the license recently sent Stallman up in flames.
