Long story but I needed my table cell borders to display even if the cell was empty. Was having problems with this in IE so I found something that said I had to use border-collapse. When I used border-collapse, it cause problems in Firefox (the borders around my thead th did not show up).

I want to put in some javascript to will only use the border-collapse style for IE browser.

I tried

table.style.border-collapse = "collapse"

but that did not work

When setting a CSS property through Javascript, a hyphen is converted into a capital letter on the next word. For example, background-color becomes backgroundColor, and border-collapse becomes borderCollapse. However, this is not what you need here. Try putting   in your cell.
