Disable Right Click Script II, No Right Click Script III

The Disable Right Click Script II works on your demo page but doesn't seem to work on my web page hosted at a free web host. I've tested the page with Firefox 1.5, Netscape 8.0 and IE6. In addition to the above script, I also have the image toolbar disabler (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/imagebar.htm (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/imagebar.htm
)) and three other scripts that have nothing to do with images. Plus the web host's server puts JavaScript before and after the html tags and within the body tags.

With regard to the No Right Click Script III, which is what I was using initially, it worked with Netscape and IE 6 but not with Firefox 1.5. Because it didn't work with Firefox, I changed it to Script II but found the above surprise. I know this script (III) worked with the earlier versions of Firefox on my web page.

Any ideas why there would be problems with script II not working at all with the browsers mentioned?

Don't ever use this or any other meta tag to disable the image tool bar:

<META HTTP-EQUIV="imagetoolbar" CONTENT="no">

Instead, add the galleryimg='no' attribute to each image that requires it. Many will not require it due to either small size and/or method of generation. Using the meta tag to do this can cause systems to crash - courtesy of your friendly, neighborhood IE6 memory leak bug.

Disabling the image tool bar will not protect your images however, it only makes them look better without that ugly tool bar.

Note: Most new versions of IE are now shipping with this dubious 'feature' disabled anyway but, this may change.

As for disabling clicks of any kind, if the idea is to protect your content, don't bother, it won't work and as you can see, just causes problems in evolving browsers.

All content that is on the web is cached on the user's computer and if not available for copying otherwise, is available there. With today's computers and browsers, there usually are even easier ways to copy it. The proper tool to protect your content is copyright law.

Script works on web side very well, but doesn't work on pop - up window with image

Oops, my apologies to jscheuer1. Thank you for your response, way, way long ago.

It wasn't until I saw the e-mail from DD notifiying me of anubismj's post that I saw I hadn't replied to yours. Totally forgot about this.

Anyway, I'll take your suggestions and apply them to my web pages.
