What I want to do is to change the default color of blue for the highlight color of the menu item - can anybody supply me with the code to do so?

Thanx

Yea In the CSS part Change The background-color to whatever you like:

Script: <style type="text/css">
.dropcontent{
width: 300px;
height: 140px;
border: 1px solid black;
background-color: #FFECC6;
display:block;
}
</style>

change it to:

<style type="text/css">
.dropcontent{
width: 300px;
height: 140px;
border: 1px solid black;
background-color: #0000FF;
display:block;
}
</style>

That should work if it doesn't let me know.

Thanks for your reply BenSlayton, unfortunately what you suggested

Change it to:

Code:
<style type="text/css">
.dropcontent{
width: 300px;
height: 140px;
border: 1px solid black;
background-color: #0000FF; <-- Changing this changes display box background
display:block;
}
</style>
changes the content box where the message/info appears. I want to change the highlight color of the drop-down menu items from the default blue to another color

Do you want to take another shot at this?

I've looked into this before and found that blue is the color, period. I'd love to be proved wrong but, that is what all my searching and experience has told me. I imagine that if one were to design one's own select element from styled divisions and/or list elements (list elements are probably a bad idea) and/or a table using javascript for hiding and revealing absolutely positioned content held in a relatively positioned container (all that a select is after all), one could make it highlight in any color one wished. However, without great technique, it would be a total mess in non-javascript enabled browsers.

JS -

Thanx, I was afraid this was the case - did alot of searching myself and my conclusion - its a anomaly.

Thanx - I'll go onto other things.
