Image position in slide-show

Hi there,

I'd like to use differently oriented images in the same slide-show. The problem with that is that for the slide-show height to accomodate the portrait images, it leaves a big gap between landscape images and the text beneath the slide-show.

Is there a way to make the images align to the bottom/middle rather than the top of the slide-show or am I going to have to add blank space at the top of my landscape images?

Thanks for that - I did have a look around but did not see this.

Not the most Web standard of fixes though is it? Once I knew where in the code to fiddle I had a go at using a div instead but vertical-align is being its usual elusive self :(

Actually, a table is the oldest trick in the book for centering images.

Well yes, but we shouldn't be using tables for layouts these days, only for tabular purposes, for accessibility reasons.

If you are worried about accessibility, don't use a javascript slideshow in the first place. Virtually anyone who can view the slideshow will have no problem with its use of a table.

I should probably do more research into how screen readers work.
