Hi All

I have a quick query is it possible to custom position any of the top nav bar scripts within a table as i wish to replace the menu system on my site www.tyrrelstownfc.com is this possible as far as i can see you can only position at the extreme top or sides would love to replace my simple menu with one of your top nav bar menus but really need to be able to put it in the exact same place on my site as the existing menu, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Senan :)

Not sure which DD script you are referring to but yes, most menus can be positioned one way or another. Some are very tricky though. Best to read all information on the demo page of the particular script in question to see what it can do. If it looks promising and has documentation, read that carefully as well. Look for a menu that can have its position set simply by where its code is placed on the page (best) or one that has settings for where it will appear (these can be the tricky ones). The chrome css menu is particularly hard to center on a page but, it can be done, though if centering is what you want, avoid that one.

Which one will let me do this on the DD website?

Cheers :)

There are so many to choose from, it would be best if you were to select one or two that you like. If after that you want me to tell you if they would be easy to position, just ask.

Warning: Please include a link to the DD script in question in your post.

Not the easiest to position but, it can be done. If you use the default width, it is easy to position it vertically. Let me know how it is going and if you need any help positioning it.

Do you need a simple drop down menu or one with nested sub drop downs? If you only need a simple one level drop down, anylink drop down, the original not the css version is very easy. You just put it where you want it. The problem with all of the multilevel menus is that they are absolutely positioned. You may have luck with the 'top' menu if you put it inside your main content area though. If not, it can be tweaked with a short additional script. However, different browsers may see its tweaked position slightly differently. If you want to try it, go for a very simple version of it, one with a few top levels and one nested level to see if it can be positioned satisfactorily. With absolutely positioned menus, it helps if your page has a transitional or strict DOCTYPE. I notice your page has none.

Hello,

I'm also experiencing a positioning problem with dynamic drive's drop down menu. I'm using the chrome drop down. It was positioned ok 'out of the box' but I had to change a div on the page to relative positioning for the layout. Since the change, the chrome drop downs are no longer aligned. Anyone know what code I can change to move them? I tried modifying with the following code, but it doesn't appear to change anything:

.dropmenudiv{
position:absolute;
top: 0px; /* changing these don't seem to affect anything */
left: 0px;

Ideas?
