View Full Version : Flash movie linked

I've taken on a project originally developed by someone else. I don't have any flash experience. I've got a splash page with only a flash movie on it that is linked to open the main page. I'm guessing the linking was done during developement of the movie in flash and I can't change it. What I want to do is have the main page open up in a new window instead of the same window as the splash page. Since I can't change the movie link...can I set up the main page so that it always opens in a new window?

Thanks in advance for the help,

You should find a free Flash decompiler. There are a few lying about.
Other than that...

<script type="text/javascript">
var windowName = "friar_john";
if(window.name != windowName) window.open(document.location.href, windowName);

Thanks...where would this script be placed?

That would go in the head of the main page but, I think the result would be two main pages, one where the splash had been and one in a new window.

You might try putting this in the head of the splash page:

<base target="_blank">

Depending upon how the main page is linked in the flash code, that might do it.
