Ultimate Fade-in slideshow Stops Working After Transition to SSL

3) Describe problem: This morning, a telephone technician at my web hosting service made an unauthorized change, switching my site from http:// to https:// (This was in response to a problem I was having submitting a page to Google.) I have just discovered that none of my 26 slide shows work. Here is an example: https://wildadirondacks.org/bloomingdale-bog-trail.html

Thinking I could solve the problem quickly, I tried an experiment on another slide show page. I went into the source code and changed all the http:// to https:// . That did not work. Here is the URL for that page: https://wildadirondacks.org/boreal-life-interpretive-trail.html

The problem clearly has to do with the unauthorized change that the technician made on the server, from http:// to https:// The script for the Ultimate Fade-in Slide show is no longer working. Also, another script I use has also stopped working. I tried redefining the script source to https://, but that did not work either.

I think I might have figured out how to fix this. I prowled the web and discovered that Chrome gets very upset if it encounters mixed content,meaning that there are subresources on a page that load insecurely over http://. Once the FatCow technician changed my site to https://, none of the scripts worked because they were on an http:// server. All I had to do was add an "s" to the source for the scripts, and the slide shows started working again. I have just modified the 26 pages with slide shows. Now I have to modify the fifty or so other pages that use the Scroll to Top script (which also stopped working after they transitioned me to https://). I hope this really is the answer. If there is something else I should do, please advise.

The absolute links on a 'https-site' must be 'https-links'. The relative links work alright in all cases. So in your case, you could replace

Thank you so much for your suggestion on changing the links to relative links. I have been gradually doing so, in between other projects. I have been using Google Lighthouse to try to clean up my pages, but it's a slow process, because they identify things that are troublesome, but do not always explain how to fix them.
