help with mixing two scripts - marquee and xml

Hi there, I would like to make a horizontal scrolling message (ticker) with items loaded from an server created XML file.

I think I'd like to make use of the following two scripts:
Script: Cross Browser marquee
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/cmarquee.htm

and

Script: DOM XML Ticker
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/xmlticker2.htm

but I'm unsure how to merge them correctly using the XML part of the XML Ticker for the input to the marquee script.

Please help a newbie!
