Ultimate Fade-in slideshow

Just found this tonight and have been playing with it for an hour or so with no success. Could someone give me an example of how you set the image paths? I tried editing his photo1.jpg and put my exact file location as well as just 1.jpg and put it in images folder with index file and it is still no displaying the image?

this is the code I have. the pictures are inside the images folder in my webpage directory
var fadeimages=new Array()
//SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed
fadeimages[0]=["1.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[1]=["2.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[2]=["3.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
var fadebgcolor="white"-------

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try working from the original demo page, the link in your post was for a special case using an external script file - not recommended, at least not starting out with this script. Here is a link to the Demo (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm).

I am sorry but im confused. The demo link you posted is the exact script I used. I got the thing trying to work, but my images are not showing up and I do not see where you set the images directory in the script.

That is done in the images' array(s), ex:

var fadeimages=new Array()
//SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed
fadeimages[0]=["image/photo1.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[1]=["image/photo2.jpg", "http://www.cssdrive.com", ""] //image with link syntax
fadeimages[2]=["image/photo3.jpg", "http://www.javascriptkit.com", "_new"] //image with link and target syntax

Where 'image' is the name of the directory just off of the directory that the page with this script on it is located. If you are already doing that, there is some other problem. The exact case (upper and lower) of the path and filename must be used on live installations. On most local machines, case will not matter. The best chance for me to tell what's wrong is to see a live demo of your best attempt.

PLEASE: Include the URL to your problematic webpage that you want help with.

ok I got it working, but I still did not figure out where you set the directory. I like to keep all images in the /images folder, but what I basically had to do was move the 5 images I am scrolling out into the index.html folder to get it to work. Again it is working so I am basically happy, but just like to keep things tidy in the web server folders.

If you do this:

var fadeimages=new Array()
//SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed
fadeimages[0]=["images/1.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[1]=["images/2.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[2]=["images/3.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[3]=["images/4.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[4]=["images/5.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax

You can move the images back to the images folder.

Or to be absolutely sure, you can always specify absolute URLs to the images on your server inside the script:

fadeimages[0]=["http://www.photographybynelson.net/1.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[1]=["http://www.photographybynelson.net/2.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax
fadeimages[2]=["http://www.photographybynelson.net/3.jpg", "", ""] //plain image syntax

Just verify that each image URL is valid, for example, http://www.photographybynelson.net/1.jpg
