Use relative measurements such as percentages (%) and ems (em) rather than pixels (px).

Mmm can you xplain me more exactly? cuz i dont know much of that

Looks like your design was defeated by nothing more complex than a lower resolution than it was designed for. I see you are making extensive use of flash. I don't know a whole lot about that but, Twey's idea is sound. I have seen flash presentations that resize themselves to the window. This is probably an option when you design your flash unit. Most likely, each individual element would need to be set to a percentage or scalable size (as opposed to a fixed pixel size) during the design process. That's how it is done in HTML and something similar would need to be done in flash too unless flash has a global setting for such a thing, which is possible but, unlikely.

I must say, it is a rather nice flash site, you made use of the advanced preloader type with get total bytes displayed as a percentage in dynamic text, went so far as to include a volume control slider, and have some *NICE* animations...

it sounds like the problem is size so, you would change the imgs and object/embed width to percentages instead of absolute pixel values, so you would have something maybe closer to this:

<div id="Layer4"><img src="" width="15%" height="622" /></div>
<div id="Layer5"><img src="" width="95%" height="40" /></div>
<div id="Layer6">
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="80%" height="540" title="menujbar">
<param name="movie" value="" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<embed src="url removed by admin" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="80%" height="540"></embed>

now mind you that I'm only guessing at the percentages here and havent tried em out, but that should be slightly closer to what you'd use to replace those absolute pixel values, and oh ya, it would help a bit if you killed the blank space/left margin - I'm not sure if you had some IE only content there (I looked at it in Firefox), if there's nothing there, there's not much point to having such a big blank space...

Personally, I think you got something going for you - you're not just the noob on the forum who doesnt know a bit of web design, you just needed some help on HTML basics that everybody forgets every now and then...

Hi, this has probably nothing to do with helping you with you page problem. I was just going to say that you did an awesome flash job on you site, ONE AWESOME JOB. 10/10!!!

If you give an actual reason as to why this thread should be deleted, I'm sure ddadmin would be more than happy to do so for you. However, as a general policy, threads are kept around so that others may learn from them.

Well, you have to admit it was pretty funny, if in a cruel sort of way. However, we are fairly protective of our posts here. They are always there as guideposts along the way for others, and as reminders for us of how things were done. As Twey says, if you have an important reason for wanting the thread removed, let us know. If we agree with you we will help you get it removed. Only ddadmin has that kind of access, that I know of but, he would probably listen to Twey and I if the reason were compelling enough.

if in a cruel sort of way.Or accurate. Another site that's totally dependant on Flash, and has ill-formed comments splashed across the top -- comments advertising the fact that the site was designed by the people the site is advertising, who do web design. As if a web design company is going to hire someone else to do its web design.

I think the site is awesome.
Well done and congrats
dont delete the thread

Ok, I"ve editted out the URL as the original poster requested. His reasoning has to do with web designer/ client privacy. :)
