Painting should be about music. Kidding in a way. It's true content is what drives a successful site. That doesn't necessarily have to be words, though it usually is. Also often high on the list is functionality. Does it enable the user to accomplish a particular task which the site's intended to facilitate.

Design (graphic design, that is) has become a goal in itself. Your showcase-site should contain as many images as possible (because 'an image says more than a thousand words') and also as few text as possible. This leads people to think that your site should be some sort of picture book. This site (http://www.deverhalenvangroningen.nl/) has taken this false idea to the extreme.
