Hi,

Does anyone know what free software I can use to cut a DVD I have?

Well I'm actually trying to convert it to WMV however the software I have only converts 5 mins of it (trial version)... it's not a long DVD only about 7 mins in total... so I want to cut it in half and do it in two goes instead.

Any ideas/suggestions would be truely appreciated!!

The mplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html) multimedia-playback package includes "mencoder," which can be used to convert the DVD XviD or DivX formats to WMV with the appropriate codecs (from the site). Alternatively, you could try LiVES (http://lives.sourceforge.net/), a free and open-source video-editing package.
