Please provide a working link to demonstrate then behaviour you describe. Also advise if this happens in any particular OS, browser or device so that we can recreate the problem accurately.

Does it happen on the live demo here on the DD website too? (you should provide that link so that we can compare)

If you have slides with text and you want the background to show through, then JPG is the wrong format. Try creating the slides in PNG or GIF format with a transparent background.
