View Full Version : Hiding main domain when somebody accesses subdomain

I have a subdomain hosted on my website. When somebody navigates to the subdomain, the browser status bars will show the main site's address.

For example, say mysub.com is a subdomain on mymainsite.com. When somebody types in mysub.com, various status messages, such as resolving, connecting, transferring, will show mysub.mymainsite.com.

Is there any way to prevent browsers showing the mymainsite.com part?

Thanks in advance

That is 100% impossible.
I will say it this way. Your website isn't mysub.com (unless you have bought the domain name).

I should have specified that I own the subdomain name as well as the main domain name. I am just using the same hosting account for both, and had to set up the second domain as a subdomain or addon domain of the main one.

When I tried typing in the subdomain on a different computer, the main site did not show in status messages, so I deleted my browser cache on my own machine, and that solved the problem.
