Help creating a search feature

Hi guys. So I am a noob when it comes to coding. I would really like some help on creating a search feature for my site, I offer a referral service and need to be able to give my customers the ability to track their progress.

What I need is a search box on my main site www.mysite.co.uk where a customer would enter a tracking (34562934056) that would then take them to a secondary site called www.youtrackingsite.co.uk, once they hit the submit button on the search box it would take them to their own url at www.youtrackingsite.co.uk/34562934056.

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey G-Man, I'm also interested in figuring out how to do this. I'm not looking to take people off site though but I have been having a difficult time figuring it out nonetheless. If I find something that I think may help, I'll let you know.

I'm afraid I'm not really understanding what you are looking for. Can you give an example and rephrase your request?

In your post you call it a search feature, but when you describe it in more detail it sounds more like a tracking feature. Also, I am not fully understanding how the two different sites relate to each other.
