i want to know how to set the size of a webpage, and what size i should be setting the page, so that it can viewed regardless of monitor size (i have 17" monitor, so if i were to do it according to my monitor size, its going to end up spilling over on a 15").
does anyone know what i mean? if you do pleaaaaaaaasee tell me, i know there's a way, but i've forgotten!
Thanks a bunch!
Daizy.

Don't set a size. Allow the page to flow. Remember that not everybody surfs fullscreen. So it is not the size of the monitor that should concern you but the size of the window or viewport that your page is being seen through. Over this you can have no ultimate control. So, design your page so that it can spread out horizontally in wide viewports and spread out vertically in narrow ones. To achieve this, rely on percentage widths and perhaps make use of the float style property. The idea is not to get your page looking the same in all browsers and viewport sizes but to get it to look good in each of them.
