Hi !

I would like to do an analysis on a shared drive- or any drive for that matter. Basically to audit all the documents so that I can identify when a file was last modified- how long it's been on there- how big the file sizes etc. etc.

Does anyone know any software packages that can provide this sort of service?

Many many thanks in advance!!

On DOS/Windows, the dir command should work, though you might need to use some fairly esoteric switches. See dir /?. On *nix, use ls -lah.

thank you very much for your response- however I'm looking for a software package that can run reports and possibly create graphs... I need it to create statistics for me

do you know of any products like it?

thanks again!

How about this (http://www.foldersizes.com/)? It's Windows-only, but seems to be fairly decent. There's a nice multi-platform one I saw the other day, but I can't seem to find it now.

that's definitely much closer than what I got. THANKYOU!!

I found it really hard to search for as I couldn't think of keywords that would best describe it... the ones i thought of just didn' do anything!!

I'm going to download a trial version now - hopefully its all I need!! :) But thanks for your time! much appreciated.
