Don't suppose you feel like giving any details?
Format of the text file? Database software?

haha sorry, looking at somethings now it looks like it would be easyer to use an excel sheet with the same coloums.

but I really dont know, I have never tryed this, what would your opinion be?

right now im running mysql on a windows server.

I don't know anything about Excel, but my instinctive reaction is to say that you should go with a simple text file rather than attacking the rather knotty problem of the binary Excel spreadsheet that probably contains massive amounts of data (formatting and so on) that you don't need, which would make the whole process complicated and inefficient. Another option you might want to consider is making use of PHP's XML support (http://uk.php.net/xml).
