Hi I'm trying to use the above drop down menu, which is great ta, though I was just trying to eliminate the horizontal border lines between each menu item.. the bit in the css // border-bottom: 1px //
I'd like to just have a single border line at the bottom of the menu list.
can anyone help me?

Well, as I am sure you have guessed, you need to get rid of that line from the css, you also need to remove one other line. Both are highlighted red in the below (from the demo):
