View Full Version : slideshow can`t be seen

02-17-2013, 08:34 PM
1) Script Title: How to use the slideshow?

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/translucentslide.htm

3) Describe problem:
I made a download of that site, additional the four pictures and the translucentslideshow.js.

I cleared the top raws, set the picture links korrect.
But I cant see the demo slide show. (See the attached file)

This was my second trial, the first was with own pictures in an own html-file. Because it didn`t work there I started the decribed trial.

Please give a newcomer in using javascript in html the necessary hint.
Thanks already Jogybaer

Make sure the paths to the images are correct- when in doubt, use absolute references to them, ie:

var translideshow1=new translideshow({
wrapperid: "myslideshow", //ID of blank DIV on page to house Slideshow
dimensions: [250, 180], //width/height of gallery in pixels. Should reflect dimensions of largest image
imagearray: [
["http://mysite.com/images/pool.jpg"], //["image_path", "optional_link", "optional_target"]
["http://mysite.com/images/cave.jpg", "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave", "_new"],
["http://mysite.com/images/autumn.jpg"] //<--no trailing comma after very last image element!
displaymode: {type:'auto', pause:2000, cycles:2, pauseonmouseover:true},
orientation: "h", //Valid values: "h" or "v"
persist: true, //remember last viewed slide and recall within same session?
slideduration: 400 //transition duration (milliseconds)

1) Script Title: Reply to "cant see slideshow"
I use this way, because I was not able to find an attachment possibility in the reply area

2) Script URL (on DD):

3) Describe problem: I think its not a problem of the paths of the pictures. See attached array of files.
May it be a link within the js-file, wich works all the time on your homepage, because its available, but doesn`t work after a download? its only a stupid idea.

Moderator's Note: I've moved this into the thread I think you wanted it to be in for you.

In the future you can attach to a reply. If you don't see the attachments icon/button on the editor, look to a little below the bottom right of the editor you're in. There should be a "Go Advanced" button. Click that and the post you are making will be in the advanced editor which includes the attachments button.

Still I have no idea of my mistake or what is wrong. Pictures are still unseeable

Looking at the zip file in this case doesn't show us the full picture (no pun intended :)). Please post a link to the page on your site that contains the problematic script so we can check it out.
