Indeed. Why plan for dates more than 500 years in the future? They reached the end of the stone tablet and figured someone in the future would work it out.
(And of course, due to invasions and other problems due to history, they probably haven't gotten around to writing another one. It's sort of ironic then that the Europeans, now Americans, are worried about the future they (didn't) predict... hmm....)

Just a thought, (approx. 7 hours and 39.6 minutes untill the end of the world), even if we survive this, (I'm pinning my hopes on the fact that there is extraordinarily little basis on which to say we're all going to die) , we've still got y3.8k to go! That's 3 "end of the worlds" this century by only 2040.

Interestingly, it ends at the end of a century and on Winter Solstice, as logical a stopping point as any. (I also like the "ran out of room on the stone" idea, though.)

Not sure, but I'm still here, so that works. Admittedly the day feels slightly apocalyptic because I somehow managed to only sleep for two hours (up late and I decided to get up early to get some things done), and it started snowing here for the first time (significantly) this year, but otherwise the day is going well enough. And I'm sure a nap later will make up for my current semi-exhausted state.

23:40 here in Holland, still alive, and celebrating our oldest daughter's birthday, who came over from France (where she lives now) for a couple of days.
I'm a happy man. Those who went to Bucharach are not being happy now, I guess.
