a lightbox that reads images from a directory

I ran across a thread that show how to modify one of the available lightboxes to read from a directory here, but that post was about 3 years old.

I'm hoping that in the last three years someone has addressed this need right inside their lightbox box so that I do not have to cobble two products together.

is such a product available anywhere - free or not free?
