Flex Drop Down Menu - any way to load links in the same window?

I'm using the Flex Drop Down Menu v1.3. Everything works fine except that I can't get the links to load in the same window, they will only load in a new tab or new window. Anyone know of a workaround? Basically I need to tell this thing to target the current window.

Opening in the same window is the default. There must be something about the page, the menu's links, and/or about how the menu is installed on the page that's making the target be a new window or tab.
