background color: gradient, transparent

Hi there - it's been a while :)

Well... I'm trying to make a <div> box have a gradient background... but I can't make it work in both Firefox and IE...

Can anyone help me out- and preferable with some kind of explanation, so I can learn more?
My basic color is #e99019 - and I want to fade out to #FFF...
