Google Ads Don't work when changed to PHP

I have started recoding my pages to W3C HTML4.1 Standards

When I stick in some Google Ad Code though which is required by my Web Hosting as stated by the Admin it shows fine as a .html document but when I change it to .php nothing seems to show up.

I've got both pages for reference

http://abandonware.hostingzero.com/test.php (doesn't work)

It's in a slightly different format then the normal Google AdSense code but the same none the less
