1) Script Title: Ultimate Fade In Slideshow v2.0

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm

3) Describe problem: Black box - no images are showing

I'm having a problem getting the Ultimate Fade-in slideshow working and I've looked through the forums at similar problems and unlike me they all seem to get theirs working even though I seem to be doing the same thing.

Would there be any chance someone could have a quick look please? I've checked all the locations and names and I'm sure everything is ok.

Here's the code:

<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Commercial Editors in Soho, London</title>
<link href="css/index.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
<style type="text/css">

margin-left: 0px;
margin-top: 0px;
margin-right: 0px;
margin-bottom: 0px;

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">

var mygallery=new fadeSlideShow({

And here's what's in the .js

slidespeed: 200 //speed of description panel animation (in millisec)

//No need to edit beyond here...

I've copied and pasted image addresses into the code to make sure they are spot on and amended the .js file accordingly but can't get it working in both IE9 and Firefox.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Your copy of fadeslideshow.js has been edited or has become corrupt*. I've seen this many times before, so I think it's something your editor might be doing automatically. Start over with a fresh copy from the demo page. Edit it only on a text only editor like NotePad. Use it instead of your current copy.

*In several places:

has been introduced as a prefix to all src attributes of images in those places in the script where configured paths are merged with generated markup. This results in none of the paths you've configured on the page or in the script being correct once this markup is generated.

Many thanks, it works perfectly now! I was pulling my hair out with this one. I use Dreamweaver 5.5 so I suspect it could be doing something to it?

Yes, that's one of many editors that sometimes 'think' they 'know' better than you do what the code should be. It wouldn't be so bad if they asked you about it before making the changes, and I think this behavior can be turned off in the configuration somewhere. But I routinely use a text only editor, so have little experience with these types of editors.
