mailing list question

I would like to put on my website a window that ppl can add their email address in, and they will get an email automatically back to them whenever I update my website or make a mailing list later on etc.. So then they will get an email sayin like, this website has just been updated check it out, at the following link, etc.... anyone know of anthing similar to this??

Well, I think basically you're asking for a mailing list script. There are countless such scripts, though they are server side based. A good PHP one for example is: No one bit (http://www.notonebit.com/projects/mailinglist/).
