How to setup social networking/sharing icons

Does anyone know where I can go to retrieve the codes to set them up. If you don't know what i'm talking about go on youtube and click on the Share button and the icon will show. Once you click let's say the twitter button a new window opens to twitter and you're ready to twit.

In my opinion, Twitter has as API astat that has to be integrated in Twitter. You can add the Twitter button to your web page with the use of Javascript, using IFRAME or you can use the basic linking format for doing so.
