Chain select script with contents called from an external file

Hi is it possible to have a chained select script thats content is called from an external file.

I'm working on an affiliate based mobile phone site so I need something that allows the user to select manufacturer then handset wether they want it on contract with a free gift or pay as you go.

I think I should try to explain myself a little clearer, along with a chain select script I would like to be able to have the option contents stored on an external file to keep down the page size.

In the past ive used a slider script and called its contents from an external file using ajax and was wondering if there was anything similar for a chain select script.
