As well as prev and next button, how can I add onclick navigation to a specific image

1) Script Title: fadeslideshow.js

3) Describe problem: Using the fadeslideshow.js, I now have the navigation buttons linking to prev and next slides and this is working perfectly, however, I also want to be able to click on images to go straight to an image in the array of slides, see screenshot of page layout (screenshot.jpg). What can I add so that when I click on any individual image block on the left, the large image container should display that image, and should also allow for the user to continue using the prev and next buttons. So the user can click on a specific image to display that image or use the navigation buttons prev and next. I have tried everything, but it seems that when I try to set an image in the large container, fadeslideshow.js overwrites it. Please help.

see the thumbnail attached to my first post. what i want to accomplish is to also be able to click on the images on the left of the large image to use as navigating to a specific image as well as using the prev and next arrow buttons.

so the prev and next will work to navigate in order, but i also wish to be able to navigate to a specific image by using the smaller images on the left. hope this makes sense.
