Hey, Could someone please explain the difference in these CPUs?

CPU Brand Intel
# of Cores 1
CPU Type Celeron
CPU Speed 925 (2.3GHz)
Level 2 Cache 1MB
FSB 800MHz

CPU Brand AMD
# of Cores 2
CPU Type Athlon II X2
CPU Speed P360 (2.3GHz)
Level 2 Cache 1MB
FSB 1600MHz
HyperTransport 1600MT/s

The two computers I'm looking at are about the same (1 more gig of ram) except the second one is $120 more. The computer is going to be used for web browsing and text processing, nothing to complex. I figure the first one should be fine but maybe I'm incorrect in my assumption?

Thanks.

dual-core is better (two processors), but I'd look for an Intel chipset.

I won't go technical here on you but basically The AMD chip here in this situation is the better chip, plain and simple.

Price vs performance AMD will always win out hands down. Intel is a better chip if you want to spend lots of money and it's not a problem for you but for most people money is the issue and thus why AMD is the better choice for the majority of people who are trying to decide what way to go.

- Both of it have got the same speed: 2.3Ghz
->But, with AMD you can overclock it faster than 2.3Ghz
- FSB 800MHz on Intel, FSB 1600MHz on AMD: which's one faster? I say AMD
Now, depend on you, let choose the one you want. Good luck.

to clarify, between the two presented options, the AMD chip is more powerful. What I was saying is that I wouldn't buy it. I'd look for a dual core Intel chip.
