I did a search on the cdmarquee but I never saw any post that describes why there is a pause from the time the text has scrolled off the left until the text begins again on the right. I would like to be able to understand that.

The text must 'pause' as it were because it is really an absolutely positioned division that is constantly having its position dynamically updated. If it were to start moving in from the right before it finished moving off to the left, it would have to be in two places at once. I and others have overcome this behavior by creating two moving divisions from one.
