1) Script Title:
Text and Image Crawler

2) Script URL (on DD):
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/crawler/index.htm

3) Describe problem:

I'm trying to scroll blocks that have multiple lines of text but I have not been able to come up with a solution.

I want to scroll something like below:

I've tried tables and div's but they do not work correctly. The closest I came was div's with float attributes but it did not scroll correctly.

Is there anyway to do this?

Thanks :)

I think a single table with a single row and as many td's as required would be good. You said tables, more than one table will be a problem.

But, if you want divs, instead of floating them, try making their display property inline-block, ex:

<div style="display: inline-block;">John Doe<br>Age: 23<br> . . . </div>

I think a single table... But, if you want divs...

Unbelievable!

Thank you so very much for your lightning fast reply.

Both of your recommendations worked beautifully.

Much appreciated :)

<div style="display: inline-block;">John Doe<br>Age: 23<br> . . . </div>

FYI - That works for IE8+, FF, Opera, Safari and Chrome but it's a jumbled mess for IE7 users. The table method did not work well with IE7 either. Internet Explorer strikes again!

I added some rather peculiar CSS for IE7 since it does not support 'inline-block':

<div style="display: inline-block; zoom:1; *display: inline; _height: 30px;">John Doe<br>Age: 23<br> . . . </div>

Apparently, only IE7 recognizes the added CSS and all other browsers ignore it.
