View Full Version : Featured Content Slider issue with IE8

1) Script Title: Featured Content Slider v2.4

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/featuredcontentslider.htm

3) Describe problem: The content slider is a great script and works fine on all versions of Firefox, Chrome and in IE9. For some reason, it doesn't like IE8.

In IE8 the text block I have above the red "More Information" button is unreadable. The entire text block becomes a dark block and the text is illegible. Also, the images to the left comes out choppy. It looks like you can see the clipping paths around the image with the transparent background.

In the contentslider.css file, remove the filter (highlighted):

position: relative; /*leave as is*/
overflow: hidden; /*leave as is*/
border-right:3px solid #404e6a;
width: 529px; /*width of featured content slider*/
height: 219px;
background:url(../images/rotating-prod-bg.gif) 0 0 no-repeat;

.sliderwrapper .contentdiv{
visibility: hidden; /*leave as is*/
position: absolute; /*leave as is*/
left: 0; /*leave as is*/
top: 0; /*leave as is*/
width: 529px; /*width of content DIVs within slider. Total width should equal slider's inner width (390+5+5=400) */
height: 100%;
-moz-opacity: 1;
opacity: 1;

#content .contentdiv.retracta {
background:url(../images/featured-product . . .
