The forums look different somehow... If only I could put my finger on it.

It's gone all aqua, soothing :)

I like it but I think the sidebar should remain on the right, and replace this seaweed green with a something like #323.

the top menu's naked again.

I kinda liked the gradient it had yesterday. I honestly hadn't noticed the sidebar was gone (I never use it, and this looks much less cluttered)

On the index page, the sidebar is on the left. It loads first and offsets the rest of the layout in a strange way. It's nice and clean on the other pages, though. But on the index it should be on the right, I think.

I kinda like it too, but the sidebar on the left does not bother me at all. In fact, I am not so sure that it would be better anywhere else, but of course that's just me. I also like that the top menu is more prominent. I like the aqua color scheme.

so does this mean the dynamicdrive logo, with that green thing will change to blue / aqua too??
Hmm...

one thing I don't like is ads between posts in a thread. breaks concentration! hard to read and contribute! top or bottom, please! :)

Adblock Plus is your friend.

Adblock Plus is your friend.

...but I want Dynamic Drive to be my friend!

honestly, I don't mind ads in a top or side banner, or whatever. I know they serve a purpose and need to exist. But when they break the flow of content, it becomes a usability issue.

I completely agree, Traq. Having ads isn't a problem as long as they don't interrupt the content. I can happily ignore them, but when they're in different places on different pages, they seem to "jump around" as I browse through the pages. When they're all in one place, they don't bother me at all.
I feel the same way about the main page. The side panels load first and they're not useful to those of us who spend a lot of time on the forums and don't need those links. For anyone else, they'd be just as useful on the right, not bumping the rest of the page off to the side of the screen.
But generally I'm still happy with the new colors.

Sometimes I see the ads after the first post and sometimes I do not see them at all.
