"Social networking bars" for your website

I was wondering peoples opinions on these. Good ones, bad ones, unprofessional ones and most of all, ones that are a bit too heavy duty and not "lite" on slower computers/internect connections.

All I wanted was a Like button on my page...I made the mistake of installing socialbar.ticketmy.com and now I realize all of the places I can offer my site to be shared. Nonprofessional you think? Can this be at all too heavy duty or troublesome if I'm trying to get my webpage to work well on as many computers as possible?

I think this could turn into a good conversation as well as very informational. Thanks all!

well, im gonna reply to my own thread and say, first issue noticed is the social bar i linked to isnt 100% compatible with the ipad (and therefore i assume many other mobile devices). although the bar does appear, it isnt "fixed" at the bottom like it should be. possible fixes? solutions? hmmm
