Problem: In my company, we use hundreds of email templates to help us answer questions from customers that email in to us. It is very hard to find what you are looking for in the dropdown menu by scrolling through them manually, even though they are semi-organized.

ex. dropdown options:

-Warranty - Refund minus 10% restock
-Warranty - Return merchandise authorization declined
-Support - Item not shipped
-Sales - Vehicle accessory inquiry

Solution: I want to incorporate a javascript text box right next to the dropdown menu, that when text has been entered into the field, it automatically narrows all dropdown email template options to anything that includes what has been entered. (ex. you enter "refund", and all options in the dropdown narrow instantly to only those that have the word "refund" in it.)

Can anyone help me with this? I am very experienced with html, know little about javascript, and am decent with php. ANY help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advamced.

Here's a google search to get you started:
http://www.google.com/search?q=autofill+javascript+dropdown

Basically you will need to create a list somehow and populate it with the various options. Then use Javascript to select the relevant ones when you are typing.

That search should be vague enough to give you lots of information and lots of options for approaching this.
