Area map

Okay, so here is what I'm trying to do

I run a website for a local restaurant/bar. (link below) Each month, we upload a .jpg calendar of the month's specials in the bar. I created an area-map for each day of the week (the size/shape/location of the jpg never changes), and I want the users to be able to hover over each individual day and have text appear with details about the special. I can use the span tags easily, but they disappear if the mouse is moved even if it is still in the area-map for that day, and it takes a few seconds for the information to display. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make it appear instantly, or use other code? Thanks!!!

That would be cool too! I got it uploaded, but it only shows in firefox, the spans dont work in IE. Not sure why though.
