View Full Version : Ultimate fade in slideshow pauses when you click next

1) Script Title: :: Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v2.4)

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm

3) Describe problem: Hi everyone. I want my slideshow to play automatically, but with the option to manually skip back and forward between pictures.

Currently the slideshow plays in auto fine, but when you skip a picture the slideshow stops playing automatically. You can continue skipping through the pictures manually though. Can i get the slideshow to always play in auto but with manual controls too? Also, my slideshow is playing very slowly in IE, but works fine in Firefox!

You can see it here: http://www.joegilbertphotography.co.uk/portfolio.htm

If you find this part of the fadeslideshow.js

var setting=this.setting
if (setting.displaymode.type=="auto"){ //in auto mode
setting.displaymode.type="manual" //switch to "manual" mode when nav buttons are clicked on
setting.displaymode.wraparound=true //set wraparound option to true
if (!isNaN(parseInt(keyword))){ //go to specific slide?
else if (/(prev)|(next)/i.test(keyword)){ //go back or forth inside slide?

and change "manual" (highlighted in red color) to "auto", I think the show will continue after clicking navigation buttons.

When I look a your site now, the auto slideshow works and continues to work after navigating, that's in firefox and chrome.

So that's all finished and uploaded now (www.joegilbertphotography.co.uk/portfolio.htm) and the site is all finished, but it all seems to be running very slowly, taking ages for the slideshow to appear? Its hosted with one.com and I'm running 20mb broadband so not sure why that would be :confused:
