Hi! Is it possible to display a loading graphic/text while the script is retrieving the respective image? I'm using some images that are fairly large in size.

you could try something like this
tooltips[0]=["yourimage.jpg", "the caption is here", {background:"url(loading.gif) no-repeat center #DDDDDD", color:"black", border:"5px ridge darkblue"}]
