I used to use the marquee tag for many things on my website, but since I have heard from many resources that they are "dreaded," I switched all my marquee tags to the cross-browser marquee script (http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/cmarquee.htm). But I have not yet found out: Why are they so dreaded? Is it because many browsers don't support them?

Thanks in advance, I've been wondering for a while. :)

But I have not yet found out: Why are they so dreaded? Is it because many browsers don't support them? No, it's the whole concept.

As I participated in a discussion on the issue last March in the comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html (ciwah) newsgroup, I won't repeat the reasons. You can read them (http://groups.google.co.uk/group/comp.infosystems.www.authoring.html/browse_frm/thread/58e25c16ec816d75/30de2179ac6ced80?tvc=1) yourself.

Thank you for telling me where to find the info. I have now added a link to view the content without a marquee. I believe that is sufficient enough.

Again, thank you. :)
